I’ve been able to spend the last two days with Norah. It has been awesome. She is the cutest. I can’t help but kiss her face whenever I am holding her. Even when I should be passing her over to her Ant Kate, or Great-Grandma. For the holiday we have nothing planned but visiting with family – my mom, her Michael (as opposed to our cat with the same moniker) and my sister Kate are all in town. We get to see them all in a few minutes when they come over for homemade spinach and feta pizza (B does it better than Copper Kettle). We spent the afternoon at my Grandma’s, where Norah wowed her Great-Grandma and Great-Aunt Jan with her pointing, babbling, and laughing. She posed for pictures, and enjoyed opening her first Christmas gifts ever, though she did prefer the paper over the prize inside. Tomorrow we are going to my Aunt’s house to catch up with my Dad’s side of the family, and then will head to B’s parents where we’ll have Christmas dinner on Christmas for the first time in about five years — the stars have aligned and B’s brother and sister-in-law who both work shiftwork have the day off! On Boxing Day we’re hosting brunch for my mom and Michael, my other sister and her husband and their kids, and Ant Kate. After brunch we’re heading to our friends M&M’s place for some Boxing Day Classic Shinny, as is the tradition. The rest of the holiday will include a trip to the farm, some watersliding, and more visiting. In there somewhere I am going to revise my thesis proposal, and have to do an hours worth of insulating in the basement (our Energuide inspection is coming up the first week of January) but other than that, I get to be a daddy!
